This Chianti Rùfina is the pillar of Selvapiana's production, using primarily Sangiovese with small contributions from traditional blending partners Canaiolo, Colorino, and Malvasia Nera.  Selvapiana is among the best-known and most respected of the two dozen growers in Rùfina - the smallest subzone of Chianti - and is also one of only two wineries to produce wine from the tiny Pomino DOC.  This is a delicious Chianti exhibiting a dark, ruby garnet color and aromas of black cherries, black berry and dried herbs.  The wine is dark, smooth and elegant, with medium body, dry tannins, earthy cherry and black raspberry flavors and a tangy finish.  An excellent value!  Sustainable; Certified Organic.
